My Experience
Having been both a public and private school general education teacher I am aware of the curriculum and methods used in everyday classrooms. This helps me to suggest appropriate accommodations, supports, and services that your child may need in order to successfully access their curriculum. I am additionally trained in Orton-Gillingham practices and assessments for dyslexia
As a school psychologist in a large urban public school district and as a private pay assessor I have completed hundreds of psychoeduational and developmental assessments with children ages 2-22 for the purpose of determining the need for educational services, regional center services, career and college ready solutions and personal growth in the areas of executive functioning.
I have provided counseling in individual and group sessions to work on anxiety, social difficulties, impulsivity, problem solving, executive functioning
In my advocacy work I have used my experience in thousands of IEPs for educating and supporting parents who are learning about the special education arena for the first time or need legal information regarding special education law and policy.
I have experience and training in Adoption/Foster and Trauma Informed Care services as well as NonPublic Schools and in-state and out-of-state Residential Treatment Centers (RTC) for students with significant emotional needs
